Just an old painting I thought I'd share. Somethings I like, some things I don't but it is what it is...

I like it. But there is something about her eyes that looks sad.

it was one of the first faces I painted so there wasn’t a lot of skill involved but I like the ringlets in her hair and how she was looking back over her shoulder in the picture I was working from.

that’s why I went with this, the angle of the face, the eyes and the shadow seemed like a challenge to me

            2. zilla007

It is..I looked at the painting in the dark, now it looks different, you really should get them auctioned or in a gallery – how does that work am serious though, I will be your agent and will take like 30% of profit lol … ok seriously, have you considered this?

              March 08, 2014
            3. EZWAYZ

lets see, your 30% and the galleries % leaves me with 40% (after including material, time and labor…) what are you going to do with your 30 cents? I’m going to save my 40 cents until I have a dollar

              March 08, 2014
            4. zilla007

ugh please, am indian, and am good at negotiations, so am sure the gallery would take about 5 cents only, the rest we save, me, I shall save enough to get you your own gallery so you don’t have to pay even that 5 cents… what are friends for nah and I cant stand seeing talent being left on the shelf like that…

              March 08, 2014
            5. EZWAYZ

actually it lying in a pile of other paintings on the coach in my ex-garage/office/guestroom/den/studio

I remember this painting…beautiful as they all are!

    March 08, 2014
    1. EZWAYZ

      yeah, nothing new here…

      March 08, 2014
      1. Dream_On

You underestimate your talent. I could never paint the way you do. Go for it, the museums are waiting for you.

        March 08, 2014
        1. EZWAYZ

so is the “mental health facility”…I wonder who will get me first?

          March 08, 2014
  5. monicaspeaks

she looks kind of pissed nice piece though

    March 08, 2014
    1. EZWAYZ

lol, yeah…seems to be a fine line between pissed and sultry and I straddled it with this one

      March 08, 2014
  6. wartfinder

I like it. She looks sultry and fuckable. Reminds me a bit of Jane Russell, but more attractive. I like Latinos.

    March 08, 2014
    1. EZWAYZ

thanks, it was a practice pic so I really probably really try repainting it sometime to see if I learned anything.

      March 08, 2014
  7. wartfinder

You clearly have talent, but lazy too?

    March 08, 2014
    1. EZWAYZ

      their both gifts

      March 08, 2014
      1. wartfinder

Now that’s a bit evasive! Mind you, painting is one thing, selling is something else and bloody hard work.

        March 08, 2014
        1. EZWAYZ

haven’t tried to sell. painting is 1) fun, and 2) stress relief

          March 08, 2014
          1. wartfinder

I agree with that, except watercolour painting can get a bit stressful. It’s not so easy to stop the paper from cockling.

            March 08, 2014
            1. EZWAYZ

quality paper, dry brush, tape, blow dryers and prayer

              March 08, 2014
  8. wartfinder

I have a friend who takes it very seriously. He soaks the paper overnight in the bath.

    March 08, 2014
    1. EZWAYZ

that would work I suppose, depending on what and how one wanted to paint the scene

      March 08, 2014
      1. wartfinder

I had to nail down the fuckers with drawing pins. The tape was never powerful enough to keep the paper – 140 lbs Whatman – down. I did about 50, then packed up.

        March 08, 2014
        1. EZWAYZ

lol…thats why I do dry brush or oil paint

          March 08, 2014
          1. wartfinder

I have retired, just compose music. Energy is not what it was, but I’d still like to paint.

            March 08, 2014
            1. EZWAYZ

I have a tin ear and no voice but always liked to scribble so, I branched out to painting a bit when time and mood allow
